I Want To Buy A Playstation 4

In contrast, the PS5 Digital Edition (which lacks a disc drive) is $400, while the standard PS5 is $500. Pricing aside, there are still potential reasons to consider a PS4 if you can't find a PS5 (or don't want to go next-gen yet).

If you want to play a lot of titles that are only available on PS4 and you don't have another game console, then the PS4 still has a bit of worth. The PS4 Pro is more future-proofed, but since its price is close to a PS5, we'd recommend sticking to a PS4 Slim if you do buy a PS4. If you can find a refurbished model from a trusted source, or a gently used model from a responsible owner, you should be able to find one for a reasonable price. We wouldn't recommend paying more than $200 for a PS4 in 2023.

The ability to casually turn on and use the PlayStation 4 remotely through the PlayStation Vita is incredibly impressive. Your son wants to watch "Glee," but you want to keep killing supermutants in The Commonwealth? Pick up your Vita and continue there! Better still, Sony's working on the ability to do the same thing with a PC or Mac!

Good news: GameStop is still selling the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro and is ready to ship right now. Best of all they are brand new models, and won't cost you more than the MSRP. You should especially take advantage of the PS4 Pro availability if you want to play 4K games and can't get your hands on a PS5.

While there's been no word on what's happening to consoles sold outside of Japan, it's quite likely a similar announcement is coming. If you're happy with a 500GB PS4 Slim, that's great, but if you want something else we suggest you start thinking about buying one soon.

PS4 Pro: $399 @ GameStop (opens in new tab)GameStop is just about the only place you can get a brand new PS4 Pro for the MSRP right now, with a slow stream of stock coming in every time it sells out. And if you want to save a bit of money, refurbished units are even cheaper.

During the PS3 days, it was free to play games online. That changed with the launch of the PS4 though. PlayStation Plus is now a service that you have to pay for if you want to play certain games online.

It's a small thing, but if you own a 4K HDR TV and want to get the most out of it, the PlayStation 4 has games that support this stunning visual format, including "Horizon Zero Dawn" and "God of War."

For those of you that think sony might want you to buy another PS4 in another place to get there products sold more, is not fully the case here. I know it could say Universal, (meaning the PS4 should work everywhere) but that's not how companies work these days. Think about it, what if it "did" say Universal? You wouldn't know what's recommended, so what if you need to replace the easiest and simplest thing in your PS4, but you need the exact Voltage, that would mess up your day... not to mention your PS4. But I know that it "could" say "this PS4 is universal, but 120V is recommended," but sadly they don't have that these days. They don't expect you to take your PS4 everywhere you go, (which is pretty stupid because what to we do 24/7?) they put the voltage number based on where it was made.

If you're buying a PS4, you want to pick up a PlayStation Plus membership, too. PlayStation Plus (aka PS Plus or PS+) allows you to play PS4 games online, get access to the Instant Game Collection on PS5 and download a bunch of free games for PS4 each month.

After anything else? How about a cheap PS4 controller? Don't forget to check our best DualShock 4 deals guide for all the latest prices. Or maybe you want to keep an eye out for PlayStation VR deals once the PSVR 2 arrives? We've got you covered there, too.

Rumors about the PlayStation 5 and next Xbox console may have reached a fever pitch, but that doesn't mean the PlayStation 4 is down for the count. If anything, the end of a console's life cycle can be the best time to get involved, since it means a bigger library of games and more refined hardware, and all for cheaper than if you had been an early adopter. Or maybe you've just finally bought that 4K TV and want to upgrade to the Pro in order to milk every last pixel.

A PlayStation 4 on its own can play many games just fine. But if you want to take those games online--as many games require nowadays--or stream music, movies, TV shows, and the like, you'll need a subscription to PlayStation Plus. This might seem like a monthly shakedown since the PS3's online services were free, but PS Plus actually adds a lot of value.

Whether you want to bark orders to your co-op team online or play late at night without waking up your family or roommates, having a gaming headset comes in handy. This wireless one is perfect for the job.

Step 2. Select Saved Data in System Storage in the pop-up window, and then tick the saved games that you want to delete from the list and click on Delete.

Step 3. If you want to delete all screenshots and recorded videos of a specific game, select the Game icon. Then press the Options button and select Delete.

Why is Backwards Compatibility so important? I can't wait to see what new games are planned that will utilize the power of PS5. Why would you want to play PS1 PS2 and PS3 games on the PS5? Surely you better off buying the consoles for that purpose and you'd be having alot of money. I'll be happy with playing PS4 games on the PS5 but I'm not dying for it.

@GamerDad66 I'm sure Sony will be fine with the few who want b/c that bad. If b/c matters more to you than simply playing new games(which is what a new console is for), then just get that PC. Your expectations from where I sit, are quite high.

I really hope Sony won't let us charge again with "remaster" treatment to benefit both 4K/60 at least especially from PlayStation Studio games. It's odd if we want to play Ghost of Tsushima in 4K/60 in PS5 without a "free upgrade" even if we have the PS4 version already. Microsoft is already doing this via Smart Delivery, best example of it is Gears 5 running in 4K/60 via free update without having to pay again to benefit those features.

Now I wanted a fully BC PS5, with even PS3 support. That's high expectations. But still, the marketing and sales opportunities (for digital at least) would be a big deal. Being able to sell the "ultimate" PlayStation, would grab the attention of everyone that's ever played a PS in the last 25 years.

Not long after posting I saw an faq on the PS5 website confirming that it's not possible. I really only want BF4 and hitman 2 which are my fav disc ones but they are also both on PS now so all might not be lost. Looking forward to Gran Turismo and Hitman 3 the most. What about you?

@tinCAT-zero there are many great ps2 that hold up better than current games. Silent hill 2 and 3 for a start. Sony should start to realise gamers are now getting older and still want to play their favourite games.

Gamers are getting older but this is being blown way out of proportion. It's a vocal minority who all claim to have a big PS2 collection of games and don't want the inconvenience of popping them in an old PS2. One guy here even said that Sony has crushed his dreams. Older gamer don't talk like that. This self entitlement and moaning about everything is putting a dampener on an amazing moment in gaming history. The PS5 is the future not the past.

Hi Everyone. Just thought i would share what PS support have told me regarding if you want someone else in your house to have access to your old PS4 on the same PSN as yours. If you are using the same PSN you can't play PS4 games at the same time on both the PS4 and PS5! And even if you have a sub account under your PSN (like a chid account for your kid) then YES you can both play PS4 games on both consoles at the same time BUT your kid will lose all the gamesave data and any progress in games like Fall Guys or Fortnite. So in effect they will start the games from scratch! Not ideal. At times like these i miss the old memory cards from the PS1...

@get2sammyb Shadow Complex remastered physical version from LRG is still not playable. Thought it might be because I'm using the same external hard drive that I was using with the PS4. I removed the external hard drive and tried to install directly to the PS5 but no luck. It says the game is the latest version, but it is version 1.01 instead of 1.02. I would also like to comment that using the same external hard drive that I've been using with the PS4 doesn't work as flawlessly as Sony claim. In the PS5 notifications, I had about 20 games that said they weren't able to copy over and 10 different errors. Unfortunately most of the games and errors said "No title" so I didn't know which games had issues. Luckily I went back to my PS4 and the notifications there told showed me exactly which games were "paused" during copying so they weren't installed all of the way and even which games had errors. I deleted those from the external hard drive on the PS4 and then reconnected the external hard drive to the PS5 before reinstalling them. Now all of my games besides Shadow Complex works. I just wanted to pass along in case others have the same issue.

Finally, those looking to purchase a brand new PS4 once it launches later this year might want to fight the urge to be an early adopter. According to Dealnews, gamers who wait just two months to purchase the PlayStation 4 once it launches could save as much as 14% through various deals.

The first thing you want to try is signing out of the PlayStation Network. This will fix most account-related issues that might cause the E-8210604A error code. Here's how to sign out of your PSN account:

Leon's arsenal of weaponry in the Resident Evil 4 remake includes all the fan favorites from the original. While you begin the game with just a single pistol, you will quickly find and unlock a wide range of weapons to not only purchase, but also invest upgrades into. One such returning handgun is the Punisher. This is a powerful gun you can get your hands on early if you play your cards right, but in a different way than it was obtained in the original version. If you want to experiment with all the guns at Leon's disposal, here's how you can add the Punisher to your attaché case in Resident Evil 4 remake.Where to get the Punisher 041b061a72
