Predator: Hunting Grounds
Banished under mysterious circumstances, this Predator has adapted to hunt undetected in the far reaches of Yautja territory. This deadly Predator is infamous for hunting legendary warriors on the chains of the Pacific Islands, studying them and adapting its armor and weapons to match their strength out of a deep respect.
Become a ruthless hunter and stalk the jungle with a variety of hunting styles, giving you a line-up of premium Predator classes to customize your appearance and play style to become the most fearsome predator in the jungle. This DLC bundle includes the premium Mr. Black Predator, Falconer Predator, and Captured Predator classes.**Cosmetic masks shown on Falconer Predator and Mr. Black Predator may also be purchased in-game with earned currency.
Players either take on the role of an elite operative with Fireteam Voodoo, a four-man team conducting counter-terrorist operations in remote jungle locations, or the singular Predator that is hunting the squad. As a Fireteam member, players have access to a state-of-the-art arsenal, from pistols to assault rifles, shotguns, grenades and heavy weapons. The Predator player, meanwhile, is able to hunt its human prey with deadly alien tech including the shoulder-mounted Plasma Caster, Combistick, Smart Disc, Wrist Blades and more.
As the title suggests, the Predator is the star of this rodeo, and the hunting grounds are where four human mercenaries enter and attempt to complete their objectives as quickly as possible before they are torn to shreds and have their spines and skull ripped from their bodies as trophies.
Inspired by the titular sci-fi movie series, this four-against-one online-only hunting game is decidedly more fun when you're the hunter and not the hunted. In Predator: Hunting Grounds, you have your choice of playing as one of four human soldiers tasked with completing missions in a South American jungle while being hunted by a Predator, the lone alien sportsman out for an afternoon of human hunting. When played as one of the former, this is a solid, objective-based first-person shooter, one that boasts solid controls, varied and multi-part missions, and interesting jungle locations. Except that unlike Call of Duty or other games like it, the constant threat of being hunted by a superior enemy adds some tension to the proceedings.
The game pits a Fireteam of up to four players against one player who takes the role of the titular alien hunter. The Fireteam is tasked with completing various objectives, from collecting key items to clearing out enemy encampments, and escaping with their lives. The Predator, conversely, is tasked with hunting down the members of the Fireteam and claiming their trophies. The Predator has advantages in mobility, capable of leaping over vast distances and reaching areas humans can't, in addition to a variety of technological gadgets and weapons, from optical cloaking and thermal imaging to wrist-blades and the deadly Plasma Caster. The Fireteam, on the other hand, must leverage their numbers and weapons to drive off the Predator and complete their missions. Should the Predator find itself on the verge of death, they can attempt to finish off the Fireteam in one last-ditch effort by setting off their self-destruct device and wiping them out. If the Fireteam manages to kill the Predator before they can trigger their self-destruction, however, they can receive bonus rewards for protecting the alien's cadaver for the Other Worldly Life Forms Program.
As mentioned above, the main gimmick of Predator: Hunting Grounds is fairly straightforward. Four players take on the roles of a military unit sent into a jungle to pull off some sort of covert operation. Whether it's assassinating targets, shutting down a drug ring, or blowing something up, you'll be getting the job done and calling in a chopper for extraction. Meanwhile, a fifth player takes on the role of the titular Predator as they effortlessly traverse the area, hunting down the other four players with advanced alien technology. The only way for the fireteam to win is to finish their mission and get out or kill the Predator. The Predator must claim its prize and kill all four members of the fireteam. In the most basic terms, a match of Predator: Hunting Grounds is an interactive highlight reel of the original 1987 Predator movie, with you either in the boots of the soldiers caught in way over their heads or in the skin of the alien hunter wanting to test their mettle against Earth's best warriors. 041b061a72
